The story behind every clean home

Within a few months that belief had become a team: local people, trained in the same method, covered by insurance, with a checklist for every room and one fixed rule: check everything again before closing the door.

The method is always the same, and there is nothing clever about it: every room has its own list. In the kitchen we start high, wall units and extractor hood, and work down to the skirting board; in the bathroom we follow the same order every time, taps, shower enclosure, sanitaryware, mirror, grout; in bedrooms we move what can be moved and vacuum where nobody normally goes. At the end, before picking the keys back up, we walk the rooms again with the list in hand. That is not paperwork: it is the simplest way not to forget the radiator behind the door.

Today that method has arrived in Aosta. Same care, same eco-friendly products, same simple idea: we answer the phone ourselves, we come to your home ourselves, and if something is not right we come back and fix it, no argument.

On recurring jobs we keep the same person on your home. The second time she walks in, she already knows the kitchen blind sticks, the cat bolts if the door stays open, and that stone worktop will not take acidic cleaners. It makes our scheduling harder and your life easier, but after three or four visits you can see the difference in the result.

When you hand us keys, we treat them like a document. Every set gets a tag with a code on it, never a name and never an address, and lives in a closed box when it is not in use. Whoever takes a set signs for it, whoever brings it back signs again. If you would rather not hand keys over at all, that is fine: plenty of clients let us in and then go out, or give us access only in the hours they are home.

Insurance is the part nobody thinks about until it matters. In practice it means that if we break a vase, scratch a worktop or flood a bathroom while working, we handle it through our own cover: you do not call your insurer, open a claim or argue about who pays. All we ask is that you tell us straight away, with a photo if you can, while the situation is still fresh.

Eco-friendly products were not chosen for the label. In homes with small children and pets, the first one to touch the floor after us is usually crawling or walking on four legs. Low-impact cleaners, correctly dosed and used with clean microfibre cloths, lift the dirt without leaving a home that smells like a swimming pool for two days. Where something stronger is genuinely needed, a bathroom shut up for months for example, we use it, we tell you first, we ventilate, and the room stays out of use until everything is dry.

A quote comes out of a conversation, not a price list. We ask how many rooms and bathrooms, what the floors are, how often you would like us, whether there are pets, stairs, a lift. When a home is large, heavily lived in or has unusual surfaces, we come and look at it: ten minutes on site is worth more than half an hour of description on the phone, and it stops us quoting a figure that will not hold. The visit commits you to nothing.

Cleaning in this valley has its own rules. From November to March, road salt comes in stuck to the soles of boots and leaves white marks on entrances and landings: it has to be dissolved with warm water, not swept up dry. Second homes and short-let flats live in waves, with changeovers piling up at the weekend and a property that sits shut for weeks and then has to be opened, aired and put back in order in a couple of hours. And in the historic centre of Aosta there are narrow staircases, stone landings and impossible parking: up there we arrive with kit we can carry by hand, because the big trolley simply will not go.
